CannMed 25 selects Puerto Rico as the venue for its first event outside the United States

The CannMed 25 Innovation & Investment Summit was held from June 17-20, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Golf & Beach Resort. Over 250 professionals attended, including physicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and more.

The event, organized by Medicinal Genomics , was held for the first time outside the U.S. CannMed chose Puerto Rico as its venue, highlighting its progressive regulations , world-class tourism infrastructure, and growing medical innovation ecosystem .

The program included interactive workshops on the endocannabinoid system , with academic credits for health professionals, scientific presentations , and panel discussions that addressed topics of interest such as cannabis genomics and cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome .

One of the highlights of the event was the activities outside of the academic conferences, such as themed dinners, exclusive events, a beach party, and a morning of yoga and meditation. These activities fostered networking among attendees, strengthening alliances and business opportunities.

In the days leading up to the event, they offered free tickets to people interested in participating from Puerto Rico, promoting access to knowledge about the plant and all its advancements.

We hope that this exposure of our island of Puerto Rico, by being chosen as the first place outside the US to hold the event, will put us in the world's spotlight a little more to continue demonstrating the potential we have for the development of the cannabis industry.
