When did you discover Cannabis in your life?
Ummmmmmm?!
In the 1970s, marijuana use was illegal, yet it was widely used by members of my generation both in and outside of Puerto Rico. It was the era of Flower Power, the Vietnam War, and many other struggles taking place around the world. Back then, smoking it was the only option… and we smoked it to have a good time, have fun, laugh, relax, and boost our creativity… I had a friend who, after smoking, would almost fall asleep and say it was relaxing his body. Nothing could be more true!
But… now I rediscover it (at the insistence of my daughter and son) from another perspective, and that is that of Health and Quality of Life.
How has cannabis helped your health?
Immensely…
I am not the same person I was before I started using medical cannabis. When I turned sixty, the aches and pains of old age began to take their toll, and my health was sapping my life and my joy for living. I thought I had to accept it and that what was happening to me was just part of the aging process.
I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, pain, and inflammation in my spine, knees, legs, ankles, hands… in short, pain and inflammation. I also have several gastrointestinal conditions that would flare up with episodes of pain and inflammation, often requiring hospitalization. In addition, I suffer from sleep disorders; I couldn't sleep, my brain never switched off, and at night I would lie awake, thinking and thinking. Now, after more than two and a half years of using medical cannabis, I'm a different Celina, a Green Queen! My life has been transformed. I'm alive, I control my pain and inflammation, and I've been able to eliminate medications that weren't helping and were causing side effects.
The female presence in the Cannabis industry is considerable and even greater than that of men. Do you think that women working in Cannabis are being treated the same as men?
I think the cannabis industry reflects the broader landscape of industries and businesses. Women have faced greater challenges entering the workforce and the business world. Historically, they have been underpaid, making it more difficult for them to be considered for top management positions. In the cannabis industry, we have women "bosses," managers, and women in leadership positions (which I greatly admire) and management roles, who are making a difference. I also know of others who are beginning to establish themselves. However, we still have a long way to go. I take this opportunity to encourage those other women who are considering this path to analyze it, educate themselves, and take the leap.
What is your favorite consumption method and why?
Hahahahaha
Well, I'll tell you, I started with tinctures, then I added capsules, from there I moved on to edibles, then vaporizing (cartridges) and vaporizing flower. Of course, (almost) always in combination with CBD and THC.
Have you managed to modify or change the thinking of any family member or friend about Cannabis?
Of course!!!
From family, current friends, friends from the 70s, and people who write to me on my social media.
The greatest reward is when people share their experiences with medicinal cannabis and how it has changed their lives. It's important that those suffering due to their conditions discover this.
What would you recommend to a patient who is interested in trying cannabis for the first time, but is afraid or doesn't have enough knowledge?
First, give medicinal cannabis a chance; you won't regret it.
Second, that they understand that the use of medicinal cannabis is a process and that it is not a magic wand that immediately changes your life.
Third, it is a "trial and error" process, which takes time while they find the method that works best for them.
Fourth, find the right dosage (micro-dosing) for you. The one that best suits your endocannabinoid system, your body, and your tolerance.
Fifth, the conditions that the person has will also determine the process and time to acquire well-being and quality of life.
Sixth, don't be afraid; it's possible to regain your health and well-being, and for that reason alone, it's worth getting certified as a patient and giving medicinal cannabis a chance. Cannabis is legal, medicinal, and also brings us happiness.

If you could change one thing about Puerto Rico, what would it be?
Damn it!!!
That's a trick question, and I could talk about it for days. We're in a time of change, and we're seeing a new generation rising up, realizing that things aren't right and that action needs to be taken.
I'm concerned about the environment, pollution, and the possibility that the cannabis industry is contributing to this problem. I'd like to be able to influence how medicinal cannabis products are produced, packaged, and delivered. I want biodegradable, plant-based, compostable, and environmentally friendly materials and products to be used. Our waterways and planet Earth will thank us for it.
What experience would you like to share so that everyone knows about “The Green Queen”?
For me, it's about telling how cannabis transformed my life, how I feel vibrant, alive, "alive" with a desire to live and to tell my story.
The other day I went for the pre-admission appointment for my second eye surgery, and the internist who was giving me the medical exam said, "Ma'am, you're very active and agile, and your movements and demeanor are those of someone much younger than your age." He made my day!

Anything else you'd like to add.
If you want to have well-being and a better quality of life, give medicinal cannabis a chance, you won't regret it!

We are grateful for your support, Queen of Cannabis, and for learning part of your story. As you know, cannabis has no age limits, only those imposed by the government. Educate yourself, learn, ask questions, and dare to break the myth and the supposed monster of this plant, which is demonized by other interests that are not those of the people's well-being.
Consume with knowledge and never be afraid to ask and clarify doubts before consuming.
If you are a cannabis patient and would like us to tell your story, please get in touch.
