In the previous article, we secured the funding, distributed the tokens, and launched the project, but now comes the most important part… preventing that coin from dying out. And how do we achieve that?
With a series of fairly clear steps to maintain its value, its use, and the trust of
People. Because creating a currency isn't just about launching it, but about giving it life every day. One way to do this is to connect that currency with real community activities. For example, you could use it to buy something at a local store, pay for a community service, or participate in workshops. If neighbors know that the token serves a useful purpose, they'll value it. Another step is keeping the community active. Every time there's a meeting, participation can be rewarded with tokens. This way, people not only have a voice, they also earn something. And to prevent the value from plummeting due to a large number of loose tokens, we can limit how many are given out per activity or create token "burns" when they're used, which helps prevent inflation. Creating alliances is also key. If more projects accept the same token, its use multiplies. Imagine being able to use it not only in your community, but also in other neighborhoods that have adopted the same system. This generates a network, a local economy, and stability.
All of this can be organized with smart contracts, eliminating paperwork and confusion, and with the entire transaction history publicly available on the blockchain so no one questions how the money is used. Furthermore, a small reserve or fund in stablecoins (like USDT) can be created to back part of the tokens' value, like a community "treasure chest," further reinforcing trust. The important thing is that this currency doesn't remain merely a relic of the initial project, but becomes an integral part of daily life. Because if it's used, it gains value. And if it's valued, it doesn't die. In the next article, I'll show you how to design this system to work in your neighborhood, step by step: how to create a local token economy, what kinds of activities can sustain it, and how to make it grow without relying on banks or outsiders.
Stay tuned… because now that we have the currency, let's circulate it meaningfully. #wemakesens
