For a chilly & fresher summer...
Wepaaa, cannacori! The REAL SUMMER is here, and you know it's HOT, presenting new opportunities to enjoy all the benefits of the plant, while we make the most of this season, whether on vacation or, if you're stuck working like me, after a chill day. As always, I'm HERE and READY to share my Summer Green Tips that I know will help you get the most out of this season while consuming consciously and nice and fresh.
Guard your fishing rod like a precious treasure!
The heat and humidity of a Puerto Rican summer can affect the quality of your flowers and cannabis products. Store them in airtight containers in cool, dark places (preferably between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit) and away from direct sunlight. Use desiccant bags (like those from Bóveda) to control humidity and preserve terpenes. Keep it fresh, cannabis lovers!
Explore infused beverages; cannabis-infused drinks are a refreshing and discreet option for summer. You can find everything from syrups (concentrates) to sodas infused with THC or CBD at your favorite dispensary. These drinks offer a smoke-free alternative and are ideal for combating dehydration while enjoying their therapeutic benefits.
Know your limits and respect your body; heat can intensify the effects and pharmacokinetics of the plant. It's important to start with low doses and wait to feel the effects before consuming more. Listen to your body and adjust your intake according to how you feel. Remember: “Less is more.”
Beat the summer heat with cannabis. Ever wondered why hot drinks cool you down, but cold ones make you feel warm? No, it's not poop; the answer lies in our TRPV1 receptors. These receptors, responsible for triggering an internal cooling response, are located in the mouth. If coffee isn't your thing, cannabis might be the perfect solution.
An NIH study suggests that THC can lower body temperature due to its interaction with brain receptors. So, switch from your joint to a bong or vaporizer (preferably one with temperature control) and enjoy a cool-down.
Learn and share your cannabis education! This time around, in case you haven't heard, the plant industry on the island is facing a shortage of certified doctors and a lack of education that's leaving us spinning our wheels. It's time to take action to empower our community with real and accessible knowledge. We need to get the information where it's needed most, because when the people are informed, they make better decisions.
Cannacori… I am so grateful for all the love and support you have given me. Thank you for making me your favorite at the Sens Awards and for awarding me the “Best Influencer” prize. This recognition motivates me to continue working hard for you: my patients, my Cannacori. It is a true pleasure to do what I do, and even more so knowing that I can positively impact our community and cannabis industry simply by being myself.
With all my love and commitment, always…
