GREEN TIPS FOR DEALING WITH “ESTROGOL”

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed your summer because the back-to-school madness has already begun, leaving many of you with high anxiety and sweating buckets... especially those "canna-parents" who I know give their all for their kids and deserve that perfect moment in the day to medicate and disconnect from everything for a while. So, just like N*Sync, let's say "Bye Bye Bye!" to summer and "Hello!" to autumn, which I hope will be cooler and less busy. So, let's get to my green tips for this edition!

• “Canna-mocktails to close out the summer”: Cannacori, you know what I say about mixing alcohol with cannabis, especially if you're going to be under a scorching sun that dries you out. Alcohol is a definite no-no. The risk of intoxication or dehydration is definitely a low point. So, make “canna-mocktails” or non-alcoholic cocktails/drinks, but infused with a touch of cannabis to give you a relaxing buzz, without harmful effects or a hangover. You can add a few drops of oil infused with THC, CBD, or both. You can also get “Keef Cola” at your favorite dispensary to give it a special touch. Oh, and as a former bartender, I recommend topping them off with a splash of ginger ale and a few rosemary or mint leaves; you'll thank me later.

• Prepare for what's coming: “Forewarned is forearmed.” This especially applies to our cannabis consumption. Remember that we're at the peak of hurricane season, so you need to know which cannabis-meds to include in your emergency kit. Although flower is the go-to for consumption, it's not the best option during this season since it can be affected by drastic changes in the environment (high temperature, humidity, etc.), easily becoming susceptible to mold and particulate matter. Plus, if it's not consumed within a certain timeframe, it can oxidize faster and lose potency and effect. Edibles aren't a good idea either because if they're exposed to electricity for an extended period (nothing new there), they'll likely be damaged. Instead, keep capsules, sublingual tinctures, or vape oils on hand, and always store them in a cool, dark, and sealed place.

• "Tomorrow will be beautiful": In case you didn't know, September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. I think we can all agree that we're living in very difficult times, for some more than others (myself included). That's why we need to have more empathy and sensitivity, even towards ourselves. Use cannabis as a medicinal balm for relaxation, to disconnect a little and not fall into a darkness that's almost impossible to escape. Avoid over-medicating if you feel very volatile or melancholic. Consume consciously: 1:1, or A LOT of CBD for anxiety. Give yourselves space to feel, but if you feel you can't take it anymore, please... seek professional help. I'm also a resource, whether it's just to vent, for counseling, or a virtual coaching session. I gotchu.

Lots of calm and good vibes, folks…

I love you all!
