“A HOLISTIC APPROACH”
In our quest for well-being, we explore how to cultivate the inner happiness of our endocannabinoid system, an essential component for overall health. This intricate system, composed of CB1 and CB2 receptors, responds positively to specific stimuli that we can easily incorporate into our daily lives. Join us on this journey toward inner wellness, exploring simple yet effective practices to keep your endocannabinoid system happy.
Physical activity – When you exercise, levels of the CB1 activator, Anandamide, increase, as does the sensitivity of these receptors. So get moving and experience these benefits for yourself.
Sunbathing – In addition to boosting vitamin D synthesis, UVA rays promote the production of nitric oxide (a vasodilator) and increase the number of CB1 receptors throughout the body. Just 20 minutes a day outside of peak sun hours is sufficient.
Consume healthy fats - Endocannabinoids are naturally produced from fatty acids such as Omega 3 and 6. You can find them in eggs, hemp seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, salmon, and oils.
Exposure to cold - Cold has been shown to stimulate the Endocannabinoid System; activate it by taking a cold shower in the mornings.
Reduce Stress - Engage in enjoyable and relaxing activities such as yoga, meditation, creating art, doing crafts, taking walks in the countryside or on the beach, reading, writing, etc. Any activity that you enjoy and that relaxes you.
Eat foods rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A is fat-soluble, which helps boost the immune system and increase the expression of CB1 receptors. This vitamin is found in: cantaloupe, mango, carrots, broccoli, cheese, pumpkin, eggs, fish, spinach, beef liver, kale, sweet potatoes, and papaya.
Consume Catechins - Eat foods containing antioxidants like catechins, as these stimulate the endocannabinoid system by binding to CB1 receptors in the central nervous system. Catechins are found in: green tea, pistachios, hazelnuts, strawberries, blackberries, kiwis, cherries, pears, peaches, apples, and avocados.
Let us remember that holistic care of our body and mind is key to maintaining a happy and balanced endocannabinoid system, propelling us towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Until the next edition.
