EPILEPSY

Epilepsy is a brain disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, which may be accompanied by convulsions. Currently, epilepsy affects approximately 70 million people worldwide and is one of the most common neurological diseases. Medical cannabis is proving to be a very effective option for patients with epilepsy, helping to reduce the frequency and intensity of seizures. Many of these patients do not respond well to commonly used antiepileptic drugs.

In recent years, new trials of cannabis-based medications for treating epilepsy have been conducted. Several types of epilepsy benefit from medicinal cannabis treatment. Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, which begin in childhood and involve multiple seizures per day, along with cognitive impairment, developmental delays, and behavioral changes, are examples. There are cases of severe epilepsy in children and adults that have shown significant improvement with a low-THC, high-CBD oil. These cases include patients who experience more than 100 seizures per week, down to two or three per month.

CBD treatment helps reduce seizures until they cease completely. Significant improvements have also been demonstrated at the emotional, cognitive, and motor levels. Some cases do not respond satisfactorily to CBD alone, and THC may need to be added. This should be done with great care and following the instructions of a specialist, as CBD can alleviate seizures in some cases and worsen them in others.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has potent anticonvulsant properties, but it also offers other beneficial effects, such as treating chronic neuropathic pain, tremors, headaches, Tourette syndrome, and sleep disorders related to neurological diseases. So, if you have a condition like epilepsy, seizures, or any neurological disorder, know that you have a natural option without side effects that can bring you well-being and improve your quality of life.

I wish you good vibes and a Happy 420!
