JM Balbuena - Author, filmmaker, advocate, and entrepreneur...

Navy veteran JM Balbuena is an author, filmmaker, advocate, and entrepreneur focused on empowering aspiring leaders in the rapidly growing legal cannabis space. JM’s debut book, *The Successful Canna-preneur*, does exactly that, while also earning her “Cannabis Educator of the Year” at the 2021 Las Vegas Cannabis Awards and a “100 Latinas Shaping the World” award from *The New Latina*. JM received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for her dedicated service as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy between 2010 and 2014.

With a focus on business development, strategic planning, and execution, JM successfully leads BSW (Boycott Shitty Weed), promoting the brand through fashion and multimedia, including the integration of Web3 and blockchain. He also heads Synergy Studios, providing film, content creation, and executive production services to leading brands in the cannabis industry.

JM currently serves as CMO of Prime Harvest Inc, a technology-focused, full-service cannabis corporation horizontally diversified across several segments of the cannabis value chain, including licensing and compliance management, direct-to-consumer operations, and the parent company of Jaxx Cannabis, a San Diego-based retailer.

In addition, JM is the co-founder of Palenque Provisions, a family-owned Latinx food manufacturer based in New Jersey. JM holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Scranton; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Production from Platt College; a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Phoenix; and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the National University.

JM's successful cannabis entrepreneurship is available online as a podcast, documentary (TBA 2023), and audiobook, and is now in its first Spanish-language printing. JM is quickly becoming a leading thought leader in cannabis, Latino affairs, women's empowerment, social equity, veterans' advocacy, Web3 multimedia, and wealth creation. To learn more, visit:
