RETURN TO THE GYM

DO YOU TAKE A BREAK, DO YOU LAST FOR A WHILE, OR ARE YOU ALWAYS ACTIVE?

Cannafitt here, my people! Christmas is over, 2025 has begun, and we're ready for the challenge of joining a gym for the first time or restarting your training or physical activity after a break. When returning or starting, many people make the same mistakes, which causes them to quit quickly.

1. They do not create a minimum 3-month plan.

Example: Not planning your meals, hydration, and workout times around your job or other responsibilities. Not considering that other people's lifestyles, like your partner's, can challenge your own discipline. Just because you're training and eating healthy doesn't mean your friends or loved ones will too. Do it for yourself.

2. Fear of not being accepted at the gym, feeling out of place or judged.

That's why I always say, only when you start going consistently, or for more than 3 to 6 months, will you notice that no one is staring or judging others. We all had that first day. Sometimes it can feel like arriving at a second home or family.

3. Start by doing exercises with many doubts about how to do them correctly.

Sometimes the solution can be as simple as educating yourself, going with a partner and learning together, or starting to train with a personal trainer.

4. Lack of motivation before arriving at the gym and halfway through the routine:

Emphasizing that point in the routine is very common when you haven't trained for a long time or it's your first time visiting a gym where halfway through training you may feel frustration, shame, anxiety; it can be a vulnerable moment when you doubt yourself and want to leave.

It is important to keep in mind that, in medicinal cannabis, there are terpenes that could assist or help create that mental motivation; in my case and in the case of many of my clients, it can be used before training.

For this, you could even organize your daily routine with a flower or product, whether Sativa, Hybrid, or Indica. The terpenes I recommend for this are the following:

Limonene

Pinene

Caryophyllene

Eucalyptol

Ocimene

Humulene

Terpinolene

Bisabolol

5. Before returning to or starting at the gym, you should create or find a way to motivate yourself:

Everyone is different, the important thing is not to give up and to get to know yourself better each time. If you don't know how to start your training in 2025, I'll leave you with my personal method. I use it during my Sunday sesh time. I organize my week well, taking into account my schedule, the meals I'll be eating, and I also try and document different terpenes that work well with my body when training or that make going to the gym a more fun experience.

Also, keep in mind what your real goal is, how you want to look or feel. If you don't know where you're going, you won't know how to begin. Having a plan and a clear goal is a great motivator. I wish you a year of getting to know your body in relation to medical cannabis, and that you can start or get back to being consistent at the gym, creating the necessary habits each day to build your new lifestyle.

Feel free to write to me, I love sharing my experience with medicinal cannabis and exercise and answering your questions. You can contact me through Instagram. Until next time.
